The Client Application Sessions section listed below provides all advanced connectivity to the Gowlings network. This advanced connectivity will vary depending on whether the computer you are connecting from is a Gowlings computer or is a home machine. In the case where you are connecting from a home machine, launching Network Connect will allow you to connect to Remote Resources applications. In the case where a Gowlings configured laptop connects using Network Connect it will provide a connection to Gowlings as if the computer were in the office, providing a wide range of services such as Remote Resources applications, synchronizing your local copy of Outlook or direct access to internal document management services.
If Network Connect is not running and a Remote Resources application is selected you may get an error indicating that the server cannot be located. In this situation the solution is to start Network Connect and repeat your selection of the Remote Resources application.
The Web Bookmarks are links created to specific web sites within Gowlings for quick access to Outlook Web Access, Remote Resources applications only or a full GOWLinks experience. Outlook Web Access is new with this release and provides a quick way to work in your email without the need for the advanced connectivity of Network Connect required for Remote Resources. Gowlinks Remote Resources provides access to Remote Resources applications when the full Gowlinks experience is not required or the connecting does not meet the minimum technical requirements to access Gowlinks (non-Windows clients). If the familiar full GOWLinks experience is also offered providing access to Remote Resources as well as many other services.
